I am not sure if anyone has stuff for sell but we can help you out on where to get stuff. What options do you want on the BK and HLT?

You could prolly just get some 1/2bbl kegs and convert 'em. Rahr prolly has some they can't use anymore that they'd sell ya for cheap.

I have tools and equipment to cut the tops and drill valve hole if you go the used keg route.

Hey Matt-
I need to cut the tops on my barrels for my ten gallon rig. I'll provide the beer if you can show/teach/help. Interested??

Well I actually have two keg's now, and a 10g rubermade MT. I just figured I might be better off in the long run if I went ahead and bought some semi pro brew pots .....
Heres a few pics of what im working with...

I would however like to get maybe two kegs to ferment in.

Most everyone uses keggles for the MT, HTL , & BK, due to how cheap they are. If you are wanting larger I would probably look at Blichmann or other large brew pot makers.

Hmm, Well I was just figuring that long term it might be nice to get some quality specialized brewing pots ... maybe, maybe not....
Opinions?

I have the 8ga Heavy Duty kettles from MoreBeer and I love them. They have everything up to 26ga.

I guess it all boils down to is how much you want to spend. Me, I like cheap, kegs, unless I was to go above 10 gallons brews then I would look to something bigger and produced by someone. Also think about searching out used restaurant supplies. There is one on white settlement road west of downtown.

Absolutely! I think Chris is wanting to get a few people together and get several things done at once.

The converted kegs are relatively tall and narrow. That combined with the inward-facing concave turn at the top tends to make them prone to boil-overs compared to the more "square" design of the Heavy Duty and Blichmann kettles.
I also like my kettles 'cause they're stainless steel, which is not as reactive with cleaning chemicals as aluminum is. And since they have the aluminum plate in the bottle, I still get good heat dispersion.

Kegs are stainless. Hmm, I've never really had a problem with boil-overs. The cost, or lack of cost, really had a lot to do with my decision plus they just look freak'n sweet!

Ah, well then nevermind on that point. I'd been told they were aluminum.

Well,
I decided not to get name brand kettles at this time. Ill just stick with the keggles I have for now.
Thanks for the input!
