Hey, heard about this club from one of the brewers out at Rahr, his name escapes me at the moment, he used to do the tours and usually wears a green rahr hat. My name is Matt and I live in Arlington. I'm a student at UTA and have been brewing for a little over a year now. Got an Irish red that'll be ready for kegging as soon as it clears up and an American wheat ale in primary.

Welcome Matt. Definitely come out, we have a great bunch of guys and a few gals. Hopefully we see you at the meeting & keep an eye on the Big Brew post. Its a great event where we brew 50-90g and everyone takes home a 5g share.

That sounds good, I'll try to make it out to the meeting. Is it someone's apartment that you meet at?

That mega brew sounds pretty awesome. Do yall just vote on what gets brewed and split the costs? Sounds like a great learning experience.

Yes, kinda sorta. We usually plan out about a year of big brews at the beginning amongst the officers but its by no means a dictatorship. So if you would like to do a specific style then chime in during a meeting. We always design the recipes to maximize the cost efficiencies through purchasing full sacks. Typically the cost is between $20-25 per 5g share, if we get much bigger than 1070 then the cost could be a little more but we shy away from that big of a beer.

Sounds cool. Just realized I'm going to be out of town for the big brew but I can make it to the meeting. I saw the menu, you guys aren't messing around! Do I need to bring anything?
