Trying again- Hoping this date and this style will suit more brewers. The last big brew Saison turned into many wonderful versions, certainly all gone by now!

Bring your brewing boots and prep the arm for grinding 150# of grain on a corona mill.

I say we break them with rolling pins. That will be much more labor intensive and people will work up a bigger hunger for crawfish.
I'm in for 5 gallons...I am pretty sure...

I'm in for crawfish, watching the big guns grind grain, but don't want a share of wort this time....

Bump.
We are at 7 shares and have up to 9 more available. I know I may be in for a second share so we have enough spoken to brew.
The cost will be between $20 and $25 per share. Please respond to the poll if you are in for a share, we are using it as the list.

Would love to, but my folks are throwing a boil that day, so I won't be able to make it.

I just spoke to James and John, they would like to have five gallons of wort and will eat mudbugs. I would like to have 5 gallons of wort minus mudbugs.

OK at the limit of reserve for now. I will see what we can do to squeeze out another 2-4 shares just in case. We have always had more wort to go around than takers so please post that you are coming and will want on the pending list. If we know you are coming then we can adjust to have enough wort.

Actually James and John will be sharing a share. These are guys in my building. They have made Mr. Beer so this is the first real beer they have made.

Put me down for 2 shares (10g) for now, and if we overbook I can give up a share. My walk-in fermenter is BARE right now!!!

I would like to post a refresher as its been a while since we had a big brew and several new participants.
Wort is first distributed to those who brew then those there with a fermenter at the end and finally second shares. We have never had an issue with accommodating everyone that wanted wort but I would prefer it to be said than have someone go home disappointed.
This will be a really big brew, one of the biggest that we have ever done, please post if you are planning to show and want to be on the waiting list so that we can adjust.

I closed the poll at James's request since he has to place orders for ingredients now. If anyone else wants a share contact James direct. If you want to join the crawfish boil/other picnic foods list, contact me direct. VB

We have about 30 to eat crawfish and a few for other regular or vegetarian foods. It's gonna be a parteeeee!
We will provide the crawfish (100 #) with veggies, french bread, smoked chicken.
Please bring your preferred beverages, chairs, table, canopies if you have them. If you want to bring a snack or dessert, that's fine but everyone does not need to....

You live right across the golf course from me. Think Iron Horse would mind if I just drove straight there? I would only have to drive on holes 4 and six and near the greens of 2 and 5.

Play through! I'm sure the golfers won't mind.

Hey Vicki this is Matt. Hope that helps. :)
Had a great time. Thanks to all for sharing some great brew and allowing me to pick your brains. The crawfish were fantastic. And thanks to all who put me in the position where profit outweighed the consequences of chugging yeast.
p.s. There was no prolapse.

I forgot about the yeast chug. What yeast strain was it?

Now this sounds like an interesting story... How much beer was involved?
TurboBrew
04-27-2009, 09:14 PM
WLP565 - Belgian Saison. It actually wasn't that bad. I've had worse beer, thats for sure.
There was a hefty amount of very good beer behind the shenanigans, a recipe for success/disaster.

That was definitely a fun time. Excellent crawfish, wonderful beers, and lots of great people to talk with. My beer is chugging away in the fermenter right now and I am looking forward to someday drinking it!
Thanks to everyone who helped put that together. It was a lot of work and you guys did a fantastic job.

I'll bet there was some carbonation produced after that had a chance to ferment in the stomach!! :-)
