Hey guys. After this last weekend and brewing 15 gallons, kegging ten more and enjoying the few gallons of ginger ale that I have left I came to realize something.
I NEED MORE KEGS! oops. I have enough to put into kegs what I have brewed and then what!?
Anyone have 2-4 kegs lying around that they are looking to part with?

Obviously you're not inviting your friends to drink enough of your beer! :)

Ive been brewing bout 22 gals a weekend. Trying to get ready for a big Octoberfest party Im having and trying my hardest to just get ahead so I can actually let it age for a change instead of drinkin young beer haha! Typically the last beer in the Keg is the best!

Good stuff. I am hoping to do a little Octoberfest deal too, but my problem was with moving... I didn't brew much in about two months and all be damned if all of my friends who came over to help didn't "help" about 15 gallons of beer go away!

I think right now CHI Company is about the least expensive if you order in bulk.
http://www.chicompany.net/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=44&zenid=746024c0f1334b2c994a69f0ce0b8a22
Buying 20 at a time gets you the kegs for 18.50 before shipping.
If there is enough interest we could purchase a pallet of 81 kegs, we have to have a state sales permit, but I'd be willing to bet that between all of us someone has one.

Lets get serious about a pallet order. I am sure I would be in for a few and I know John needs 2 or 3.

Guys, I count already approximately 30 kegs. A quick calculation and estimation would be roughly $20 a keg which is an excellent price. We would have to expect in a pallet that 10-15 would not be good. I heard someone is requesting a price quote. Once we determine a cost, we could then create a sign up sheet, contact NTHB, Horsemen and KOBB to get an order of 65 spread out the total cost and pre-pay so no one is carrying the cost and risk. Then we would have 16 first for parts in case anyone has a bad keg and if any usable kegs are left over then they can go towards the Christmas Party Raffle.

At 20 bucks a keg I would be willing to buy 10. I think a buddy of mine would be down for 6 or so. Sounds like a good plan!

Yeah i would go up to six at the 20 buck price. Looks like we may have enough on just the Cap and Hare list to make an order.

As soon as we get a Resale # and info, we can quote a pallet of kegs.
We would need:
Shipping address,
Is it a residence or Commercial address,
Do you have a forklift or loading dock.
Thank you,
Matt

Hi CHI Company. These would be delivered to a commercial location with a dock and a forklift would be available.
One of our members (also named Matt) has already emailed you his reseller info. I will let him chime in with specifics.

Still checking my inbox. The rep said they had a long back log of e-mails but he would flag mine for today. There are 2 options on the kegs: 1. Cleaned and Pressurized
2. Uncleaned and As-is. I put in a request for both.
arkador

I would think clean and pressurized would probably be worth the extra couple dollars each.

We still have the option of going with the guy from kegconnection. Cause frankly the customer service for the Chi company sucks.

As of right now the Chi company is filling orders (their big customers) for the last lot of used kegs by the pallet that they have. Until they work out a deal with a company that just got bought out, they can't take orders on pallets of used kegs.

I have 5 ball lock corny kegs with racetrack lids for $100 firm. If you don't know what a racetrack lid is, I can email you a photo. These are 5 gallon kegs just like any other, except the shape of the lids won't look exactly like your brew buddies. One may have a slight leak, but I'm pretty sure that one is in a different batch. I will check before we firm up.

Put me down for 4 if we can get them for about $20 to $25 each
TurboBrew

Almost exactly one year later. Unfortunately, $20-25 kegs don't really exist anymore and the companies have no incentive to sell us a large quantity of kegs for below asking price so this idea got trashed a while back. :(
Edit: looks like Lumpher found a guy selling some cheap kegs.
