Former BJCP Treasurer Found Guilty of Siphoning Money
William Slack has been sentenced to pay pack $43,139 and serve 12 weeks in federal prison for siphoning money from the Beer Judge Certification Program (BJCP) while he served as treasurer. The BJCP is a 2,500 member New York based non-profit that certifies and ranks beer judges through an examination and monitoring. Slack will remain on probation for five years. Been a long time coming. I found the way the sentencing of the 12 weeks to be rather odd.

Judge Steven McAuliffe settled on a more uncommon "intermittent" sentence, ordering that Slack spend one week a month in federal prison for 12 months, starting in February.
