This coming Saturday (Sept 19), weather permitting, I am planning to cut down several dead oak trees in my yard.
If anyone wants to come by and help cut down trees and cut them into logs, I would be more than happy to give you a bunch of the logs.
I have one working chain saw (and an ax), so if you have a chain saw, be sure to bring it.
If you have a chipper/shredder that you would be willing to use to grind up the smaller limb and twigs, that would be really great.
I'll get started at around 9am. I only have a little bit of beer, but if you post and let me know how many are coming, I'll buy some, or maybe some of you will bring some homebrew (since I'm out of it).
Address is:
1405 Melody Lane
Roanoke, TX 76262 (actually located in Keller, but most online mapping services work better if you type in Roanoke)

Matt,
To bad I will be leaving for Rhode Island on Saturday. I would pay to see the trouble you guys can get into with chainsaws and homebrews. And chippers. You sure you are going to going to get a couple circular saws going for kicks????:D

We'll video tape it for you, Larry.
We may get a few logs that look suspiciously like human appendages. But, hey, that's why God gave us two arms and two legs, right?

some of us will be doing something safer, like boiling up hundreds of gallons of liquid over gas-powered bonfires while drinking beer near a lot of deep water

Somehow, I was thinking the dopplebock brew-in was a couple of weeks later (even though it is posted).
Oh, well, I didn't sign up to take home any of the brew, and I need to get these trees cut down. Apparently they have been dead long enough and are so rotten that they are starting to snap off near the top and land on the driveway, the yard, etc. We've had at least 3 large sections from 3 different trees fall in the last couple of weeks, and others before that. I'm afraid one of them will land on someone, their car, or on the house before long.

Matt, If you don't get it all done this weekend let me know. I have a chainsaw and would be willing to work for logs.

Man, stealing my thunder....
By the way, I also have much wood available. Might have another tree cuttin' day in the near future, too, as I still have several more trees to eliminate.
