WIMBERLEY - The months-old Wimberley Brewing Company (http://www.wimberleybrewingcompany.com) closed this week due to financial and family pressures. Owner and brewer Bruce Collie sold the facilities to the former chef, who intends to reopen as a German restaurant.
Collie still has plans to soon reopen his brewpub nearby as a pizzeria and continue to expand its brewing capacity.https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/35617993-3962414753485275151?l=texasbeer.blogspot.com

I'm not from around these here parts, so I don't feel so dumb... :)
It is between Austin and San Antonio. Very nice area.
Edit: Jay, you'd feel at home with Bruce. He's a former 49er. Real nice guy.

I do love the hill country. My grandma lives in Hunt, near Kerrville. Awesome place.

Bruce?
I do love the hill country. My grandma lives in Hunt, near Kerrville. Awesome place.
My aunt and uncle have about 250 acres outside of Fredericksburg, off of 965 just a few minutes down the street from Enchanted Rock. It has been in that part of the family since Germans first settled the area.
Haven't been to the Kerrville area in more than 15 years, though. Not familiar with Hunt.
Bruce?
Bruce Collie: Owner/Brewer, 49er in the 80s. My brother--the one you met at Rahr's--got to know him when he was living in the San Marcos/Wimberly area.
