October Big Brew

Any word on the October Irish Red Big Brew? I would definitely love to get in on that. I had a great time at the last one.

We are working on it.

Date looks like it will be October 24th. Nate @ the T&P Tavern wanted to host one, I will contact him and verify we can still do it at his place on that date, if it does not Kyle LaPointe has offered his house up for the brew. Soon as I have an answer from Nate I will post a new thread. If we end up at Kyle's the style may change as we like to give the host a say in what we make.

The style we were looking to do is actually a Rye Red beer, close enough to Irish red :) Rahr had generously offered to donate 1 sack of Rye for our big brew, I will verify the offer still stands.

I have at least 4.2 oz. of Liberty at 4.7 AA hops to donate if it's needed.

Talked to Nate tonight and he is still in for a Big Brew. He said he will be at the meeting tomorrow.

Yes the plan is for a Rye Red
2 Sacks Rye
1 Sack Munich
2 Sacks Pale
Small amount of Crystal and Chocolate
American Hops

You can use a wide variety of yeast, 1056, nottingham, english yeasts, german ale yeast or if you really want to get crazy you could even use a wheat yeast.
