Yes let’s schedule Sunday 1/21 at 10:30 am Location TBD.
Would like 7 total Judges with priority given to BJCP judges. 4 is the minimum but if we have 7 then we can be done before playoff football games start. Right now I have 3 judges, please let Vince or PM me if you want to judge
(Do not post here and if you sign up do not have any conversations about IM with anyone, because no one should know who judges are and as soon as you hear that team 1 made x with a and b then you are no longer available to judge)

REMINDER!!! Iron Mash Brew Teams, please note the following:

Judging

Entries are due by 5:00pm, Saturday, 20 January 2018 at Texas Brewing Inc. Any teams who do not have their entries delivered by the deadline will not be eligible to win the Iron Mash competition.
• There will not be full score sheets filled out for the beers; each will only get an overall impression description from the judges including comments on the base beer and the specialty ingredients. You will not get a numerical score for your beer.
• The judging will be done on an ordinal basis with the ALL entries being judged based on the BJCP category declared on the competition brew day, with the following primary aspects being taken into account:
- The quality of the beer style compared against the style guidelines
- The use of the specialty ingredient with special consideration given to use of multiple ingredients if used well
- Were the ingredient(s) incorporated well, and did they compliment the base beer?
- Did the ingredients add to the overall enjoyment of the beer
- Would the judges enjoy drinking a pint of the beer
• All beers will be judged and the top 10 will be ranked on a strictly 1 through 10 basis and the top 3 beers (1st Place; 2nd Place; 3rd Place) will be recognized at the awards ceremony.

The Iron Mash competition is a BJCP Recognized Homebrew Competition.

Awards Ceremony
The Awards Ceremony will take place Sunday, 28 January 2017 at Rahr & Sons brewery tap room. Doors open at Noon, the Awards Party Kickoff is at 1pm.

Each team is asked to bring a sample of their entry to share with the others at the awards ceremony. While not required, all teams are encouraged to bring a food item that the team has paired with their entry.
No cooking is allowed at the awards party, all food items must be prepared before-hand (Leave those turkey fryer’s at home please!!!)

Competition Awards
• 1st, 2nd, 3rd Place Winners will be awarded based on BJCP overall scores
• Brewer’s Choice, each brew team will be provided two votes at the Awards Party to vote on the best competition beer served at the Awards Party
• BrewMaster’s Table, each brew team will be provided two votes at the Awards Party to vote on the best food pairing
• Best of Show; open to all attendees at the Awards Party, vote for best overall presentation at the party (beer, food, setup, etc.)

Had to dump mine. Tasted horrible. I think it was the piloncillo. I used the extra to boost the gravity in another batch, and it tasted bad too.

Oh well, maybe next year.
