Cheap. May work, may not, but I'm gonna guess that it works. I may buy one soon and test it out since it a bit cheaper than the other options I have seen.

Under application, they listed chicken. Where would you insert this device in a chicken to control it's temperature? Would you ever want to reuse it?

That price is great, but check out whatever it is you are going to plug into it before you buy. It's only rated for 10 amps which may not be enough to run a refrigerator or a chest freezer......

It would be great for a home built fermentation camber. Like the one's with the jugs of ice and computer fans.

It might work, but 10 amps is a bit low, I think, at least for a chest freezer. Most chest freezers operate at less than that during continuous running, but they may peak to around 15 amps when they first start up.

it should work, but like matt says, i'd be leery about the surge when it first powers up on a cooling cycle. they'll hit around 12 on the surge, but even so, rated at 10 should be ok for 15-18 momentarily. just keep an electrical fire extinguisher handy
